DMF-NDAFP Foundation Endowment Fund
The North Dakota Academy of Family Physicians Foundation would like to thank the North Dakota Academy of Family Physicians for their very generous donation of $75,000 into the Dakota Medical Foundation – North Dakota Academy of Family Physicians Foundation Endowment Fund. This donation will ensure the continuation of the many wonderful NDAFP Foundation programs that are already in place. This will also allow for the development of new programs to further promote Family Medicine as the specialty of choice for medical students and provide additional training for the Family Medicine Residents in the state.
This donation also came with support to match up to $25,000 in donations made to the DMF-NDAFP Foundation Endowment fund on Giving Hearts Day, which will be held February 10, 2022. This will help the NDAFP Foundation’s goal of increasing the balance of the DMF- NDAFP Foundation Endowment fund to $500,000. Thank you to the NDAFP Board of Directors for supporting the Foundation and continuing the strong partnership that these two organizations share.
The NDAFP Foundation is very proud to support many activities that encourages medical students to choose Family Medicine as their specialty of choice. These events include panel discussions with residents and family physicians sharing their experiences, hands-on skills workshops to allow students to practice some of the many techniques they will utilize in practice, networking events, and recognition at graduation for those that choose Family Medicine.
The NDAFP Foundation has a number of programs to support the Family Medicine Residents in the state of North Dakota. It is the lead organizer for the Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics training that is required of all ND Family Medicine Residents. They also pay the membership dues to the AAFP and NDAFP for all ND Family Medicine Residents. This allows the residents to fully utilize all of the many resources available at no cost to them.
The North Dakota Academy of Family Physicians Foundation is grateful to the Dakota Medical Foundation for providing with the management and assisting with the fundraising efforts needed for the endowment fund.
